Shirley Maclaine - Love and Light

Three years ago, I had cause to take a look at Shirley Maclaine. Since Shirley came out of the New Age closet with her book "Out on a Limb', she's became an icon on New Age subjects. From my vantage point, it is noteworthy that while building a successful and lifelong career in Hollywood, she's not become the object of the scandals and excesses that are frequently common to many in that profession. Her book also made her the object of numerous Maclaine jokes and one can only assume she's a good egg taking these things in stride.

At the time I took my first look into Shirley, I discovered she had established a web site at www.shirleymaclaine.com. I wasn't  particularly impressed with what I saw and, in fact, it seemed typical of many other New Age sites. I contacted the powers that be on that site stating I wanted to speak with Shirley. I was advised that she didn't indulge such requests. Unwilling to beat my head against the layers of insulation celebrities build around themselves - I dropped the matter.

Not long ago, Old One suggested that I take another look. This time I found that Maclaine was an active participant on the web site so I posted a couple of messages and waited for a reply. None ever came. Hmm.......

The web site has a feature that allows one to pull up all the posts made by a particular individual. I did so for Maclaine.
The bulk of her posts tend to be one liners such as this

Hello

I think you are on the path to being part of the solution, not part of the problem.

Bravo
Love and Light,
Shirley

It's rare to see her actually engage in a 'conversation'

This is a listing of all posts made going back to May of 2002 with the subject header preceding the date and time.
Between November, 2003 and June, 2004 there is no posted activity at all.

I came in to play but... ShirleyMac Thu May 2 2002 15:58

I decided to use the donkey and the two by four approach. That is, one must use the two by four to get the donkey's attention. To this end I posted a subject heading of 'Shirley and Bait' implying that Maclaine's presence in the forum was little more than bait to draw in users. Given the unremarkable nature of the forum and its subject matter, the only thing they have there that can't be found in many other places 'is' Shirley Maclaine. Shirley did respond to this message as did a number of her users. I was informed that the purpose of the forum was to establish a 'community'. I replied that while this may be true - it did not remove the possibility (and, in fact, probability) that there were ancillary intents as well.

Shirley advised that she felt insulted by my notations with regards to her involvement's at the forum. I countered that were I intent on insulting there'd be absolutely no doubt. I am not one who subscribes to the idea that stating the truth  is insulting. Rather, if there is an insult to be had at all, it is by the one who is the author of the truth and not the one who reports it.

I then proceeded with my queries and received two one liners back with a comment that Maclaine didn't want to be anyone's guru. I can appreciate this idea but I wasn't aware I was asking for one. I then expanded on the query in greater detail. This was ignored.

So, as it is clearly not Shirley's intent to indulge conversation to any substantive degree, the next question is - 'if not then what?'

ShirleyMaclaine.com is a pay for use forum. The fee for posting privileges is minimal and, in truth, inconsequential - only $3.00.
It has always been my position that those in Father's service - do so for free and HQ is an example of that policy. However,
it is also noteworthy that the minimal fee deters miscreants and troublemakers from being disruptive. A malady also common to the Internet.

There is a second level  available for $10.00 that provides greater access to a chat room and a few other features.
Given Maclaine's posting history in the $3.00 level - one would not be encouraged to think they'd be buying access to her.
Point in fact, no disclosure is made one way or another with regards to this issue and the users are left to assume as they will.

Another point of interest was the charge that came in on my credit card. It was tagged to Maclaine Enterprises. This gives the appearance of a commercial interest and might very well qualify as an 'ancillary intent'.

This idea is punctuated by the following:

"Please join the mailing list so that we can keep you up to date on appearances, discussions, chats and other points of interest. "

It is hard not to see an effort to create an Internet Fan Club with a mailing list that could be used as a source of sales leads for her next book offering. If this is so, I see nothing wrong with it. Where I take exception is the cloaking under 'Love and Light' to disguise the ancillary agenda. Is not a Fan Club also a 'community'? The basic problem with most New Age topics is that they begin nowhere and end nowhere and never have any hope of resolution.  Those wishing to exploit the circular and neverending nature of the subject matter find a new generation coming to bear every year. Unfortunately, those who indulge New Age subjects believe they are in a quest for truth  even though the paths they usually follow have no likelihood of success.

Spiritual awakenings are a good thing. The Biblical comment from Jesus 'knock and it shall be opened' is a truism for all truth seekers whether that path takes them down New Age or Religion or some other avenue. The basic problem with New Age is that there are so many doors, no focus and no direction to the journey. What many call New Age, we at HQ call dimensional.
Unlike New Age, Dimensional skills and abilities are very Old Age and can be learned. There is a big difference between talking about things and then doing them. New Age generally stops at the talking stage.

Oddly, those who are Love and Lighters rarely take note of the doomed nature of their ideology. A woman once asked me if we took all of our 'light' and each individual combined it - could we not make a better world?  The basic premise of her question was flawed and assumed that dimensional power was cumulative - it isn't. Ten people with a power level of one have only a maximum cumulative power factor of one. However, for the sake of arguement, let us say this isn't true. History is filled with examples of people who sought to impose their will upon others - sometimes under the guise of a Love and Light Theology.
While such efforts usually start of well intended, they quickly become fascist and totalitarian and serve only to elevate one aspect of the society while subjegating others.

It can't come as any surprise that much of current New Age Mumbo Jumbo has very Old Age roots. What today might be called remote viewing was called being 'in the spirit' by the Prophet Daniel and the Apostle John. It begs the question from which end of the horse one wishes to get their data - from the front end or the tail end?
